Pope Francis has called us to step outside the four walls of our churches and into the community to get our hands dirty and serve those in need among us. For the past year and a half, Isaiah 43 has heeded that call, organizing monthly Peace Prayer Walks through the streets of New Orleans. Each month, the group gathers at a different church and walks through a different part of the city, stopping to pray for victims of crime and violence at various points along the way. In the video below, Kristina Gibson, the program’s director, shares with WDSU the impact and importance of these monthly walks.
