Cornerstone Builders was recently featured in the Spring 2016 edition of Charities USA, the magazine of Catholic Charities USA! This edition focused on appropriations, criminal justice reform, and child nutrition.
Tom Costanza, Division Director for Behavioral Health Ministries, and Ronnie Moore, Program Director for Cornerstone Builders, detailed to CCUSA the mass incarceration problem currently facing the city of New Orleans.
“Mass incarceration is ripping our families apart,” says Tom Costanza. But instead of counting the city as down and out, Costanza and Moore began partnering with other organizations, the Sheriff’s office, the Department of Corrections, and various church parishes. Together they seek to counteract the negative effects of the criminal justice system and mass incarceration in New Orleans and beyond.
