Catholic Campaign for Human Development Weekend Nov. 23 & 24

Published on November 19, 2013

Each year, the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) supports non-profit organizations that work to improve the lives of others using the principals of Catholic Social Teaching. CCHD helps fulfill the mission of Jesus Christ by: bringing good news to the poor, giving new sight to the blind, and setting the downtrodden free. The second collection November 23 & 24, 2013 in the Archdiocese of New Orleans will go to CCHD. In our archdiocese, CCHD has supported organizations like The Micah Project, Family and Friends of Louisiana’s Incarcerated Children, Crescent City CLT, Inc. and Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Archbishop Aymond and Catholic Charities asks you to join us in supporting CCHD this year in this weekend’s second collection.

The mission of Jesus Christ was set when he said he had come to “bring glad tidings to the poor.” As Pope Francis challenges us “Among our tasks of witnesses to the love of Christ is that of giving voice to the cry of the poor.”  One way we as Catholics in the Archdiocese of New Orleans can witness to this love of Christ is by supporting the work of CCHD.
