Catholic Charities’ Food Pantry operates Mondays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and operates rain or shine! The Food Pantry is located at 2505 Maine Avenue, Metairie, LA 70003. 

Anyone can visit the food pantry.  Clients receive a bag full of non-perishable food items. 

However, clients can only visit the food pantry once every two weeks. 

In four weeks of operation, the Food Pantry has given out $15,110 worth of food and baby items ($13,860 of food) to 131 families, 22 of whom have returned a second time. 

$2,280 of the food was given to the Hispanic Apostolate to distribute to approximately 38 families for a grand total of 169 families served!

The Food Pantry has served clients for Orleans, Jefferson, St. Charles, St. Bernard, St. Landry, St. Tammany and Tangipahoa parishes. 

The Pantry also received a contribution from the Alumni Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority for World Refugee Day on June 20, 2020.
