Catholic Charities’ Food Pantry operates Mondays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and operates rain or shine! The Food Pantry is located at 2505 Maine Avenue, Metairie, LA 70003. 

Anyone can visit the food pantry.  Clients receive a bag full of non-perishable food items. 

However, clients can only visit the food pantry once a month.

In the month of September so far, the food pantry served 28 new families and gave out 160 bags of food, and signed up 9 clients for Food for Seniors, for a total of 153 clients served. As families are only able to access the pantry once a month from here on out, we are giving families of 6 or more 2 bags of food – families of this size are 15% of the total number of families, and not all of them have been coming regularly.

Since beginning, the food pantry has served 1,246 total families (4,659 total people), and given out 2,845 bags of food. The Hispanic Apostolate has distributed 125 of these bags.
