Volunteers, Food for Family Staff, Celebration Church and Second Harvest all collaborating to deliver aid to those affected by Isaac in Braithwaite.
Volunteer Day of Service in Braithwaite
Where to meet: Catholic Charities Offices at 1000 Howard Avenue, NO, LA 70113
Caravan ( you must provide your own transportation) to Braithwaite
50 minutes from downtown New Orleans
When: Saturday, October 27
Time: Arrive at Howard Avenue 8am Return to Howard Ave. 4:30pm
What: Work to pack belongings, clean flooded homes, gut houses and help remove water damaged items from home in a small team.
Who: Adults 18 years of age and older.
Dress: Volunteers are asked to wear solid closed-toe
shoes and long pants and bring sunscreen.
Provided: N-95 respirators, work gloves, safety glasses and
water will be provided.
Please Note—-These homes are flood damaged; therefore, those with mold sensitivities or respiratory problems may want to refrain from this volunteer opportunity.
Bring own lunch/snack and extra water.
