The Advocate Letters: Support Hannan Community Appeal

Published on November 27, 2017

For over 50 years, the Archbishop Hannan Community Appeal has raised necessary funds to support the 30-plus programs of Catholic Charities. The campaign was begun by Archbishop Phillip Hannan in the aftermath of Hurricane Betsy. Since then, community leaders have come together to rally aid for programs assisting the homeless, children and families, seniors, the disabled and many more.

Most impressively, 95 cents of every dollar raised from the campaign goes directly to those in need. It is a sound philanthropic investment in our community. Through the generosity of others, Catholic Charities is able to serve nearly 80,000 individuals annually. We are honored to chair this year’s campaign. At this time of giving, please consider assisting with the critical needs of our city by supporting the Archbishop Hannan Community Appeal.
