5 things to know for May 5th – GiveNOLA Day!

Published on May 4, 2015

May 5th is GiveNOLA Day!  It’s the day when the community bands together to make a difference in the lives of those most in need. We need YOUR help to raise $25,000 for the children and families in our Head Start program! We have ONE DAY to give as one, so here are 5 things to know about Head Start and GiveNOLA Day on May 5th!

1.

Our Head Start program currently serves 440 children and families at 5 Head Start Centers throughout the Greater New Orleans area. Your gifts made on GiveNOLA Day directly support these children and families …and giving starts at just $10!

2.

GiveNOLA day runs from 12:00am through midnight, May 5th. Your GiveNOLA Day gifts to Catholic Charities can be made anytime tomorrow online through our special GiveNOLA Day Page!

3.

Head Start is for the whole family! Children in the program receive daily care, early childhood education, nutrition and health services, while parents receive supportive services and guidance that promotes family unity and self-sufficiency.

4.

With help from generous friends and partners like you, Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans has been giving children and families a “Head Start” for over 40 years! Today, 70 teachers and staff are providing support and early childhood education for New Orleans families.

5.

Your gift goes further tomorrow! The St. Elizabeth’s Guild has challenged the community to step up for Head Start! If we reach the goal of raising $25,000 for Head Start on GiveNOLA Day, it will ensure an additional $8,000 donated by the St. Elizabeth’s Guild!

Now, you’re in the know! Please join us as we get a “Head Start” on GiveNOLA Day! Even if you have already made a gift to Catholic Charities this year, please consider supporting the children and families of Head Start on this extraordinary day of giving by making a gift!
