You Are Not Alone: Concluding Event with Archbishop Aymond

While Louisiana prepares for the revelry of carnival season, Catholic Charities aims to provide knowledge and hope for those struggling with addiction or in recovery. In response to the opioid epidemic that has swept the country and our state, Catholic Charities’ Counseling Solutions has collaborated with the Substance Addiction Ministry of the Archdiocese of New Orleans to provide a series of educational forums to address the causes, signs, and consequences of opioid use and abuse, as well as treatment resources for individuals and their loved ones.

The last meeting in this series designed to help community members better understand opioid addiction will take place this month on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 6pm-8:45pm at the St. Angela Merici Gym. The forum is free and open to the public. Registration is not required, and light refreshments will be provided.

The Archbishop of New Orleans Gregory M. Aymond will be the special guest speaker for the event alongside Dr. Mark Taliancich; the Clinical Director of CCANO’s Counseling Solutions program; Deacon Louie Bauer from Substance Addiction Ministry (SAM); Kevin Gardere, the Executive Director of Development for Bridge House / Grace House; and John Antonucci, a provisional licensed professional counselor, licensed addictions counselor, and registered addictions counselor.
