Job Services
The Job Service office assists individuals seeking employment. Clients receive job development assistance such as writing a resume, filling out a work application, and preparing for an interview. Applicants are notified of job openings and are referred to potential employers matching their skills and interests to the needs of the employer. Clients must have legal immigration status in order to qualify for this service. This program offers free income tax preparation with the support of volunteers.

Emergency Assistance
The Emergency Assistance Social Office assists individuals and families in crisis or in emergency situations. It provides clients with basic needs such as financial assistance, food, counseling, welfare and legal referrals, and referrals to other private and public entities.

Tax Preparation Services

This program strives to help individuals in preparing tax returns, informing of services, regulations and tax concerns issues that impact and educate the community in partnership with IRS Department. With local experience, our TAS/VITASC and volunteers provide practical counseling and guidance on tax related issues.

Immigration Services
Immigration Counselors accredited by the Board of Immigration provide services to low income clients. These services include: consultation, assistance in filling out forms for citizenship, visa extension, green card renewals, work authorization, and application for family visas. They also translate legal documents like birth and marriage certificate, divorce and school documents. We offer representation to indigent clients who need assistance with following immigration applications: VAWA (battered spouses of US citizens or permanent residents), asylum (defensive), and T/U visas. We also offer representation to indigent Cubans adjusting their status before the Immigration Court.

Latino Health Access Network
LHAN’s mission is to improve the access to primary medical care to uninsured and underinsured Hispanics. LHAN works with several medical care providers and community organizations to accomplish its goal. Current services include “health promoters” and “patient advocates.”

Trauma Counseling
Counseling is provided to individuals, couples, families and groups. Besides one-on-one counseling, this program offers community workshops about post-traumatic issues related to Hurricane Katrina. An after-school tutoring program has been established to support children and their families.

Workers’ Rights Initiative
In cooperation with other service providers such as CLINIC, Loyola Law Clinic, and Southern Poverty Law Center, we are developing a “worker’s rights” initiative. The goal is to do community outreach regarding wage, labor, and immigration issues following the increase of newly-arrived immigrants helping in the rebuilding of our city following hurricane Katrina. Organizations including CLINIC, outreach and information is being provided to workers.

Educational Program
This program offers English as a Second Language (ESL) and citizenship classes to adult learners. Classes are held in collaboration with different organizations at different locations throughout the New Orleans Metropolitan Area. 

Pastoral Services
The Pastoral office provides assistance to the parishes in the Archdiocese of New Orleans that have Hispanic ministry. This program coordinates seminars, retreats, counseling sessions, and leadership formation. Issues/topics include: leadership formation, youth ministry, marriage preparation, multiculturalism, baptism, family life, social justice, etc. This office also assists clients referred within the organization that are in need of spiritual counseling.

Vietnamese Youth Services offers recreation, life planning, and after-school tutoring to at-risk Vietnamese teens in the Versailles Gardens community of eastern New Orleans. 

Immigrant Domestic Violence Prevention / Outreach provides outreach, interpreting, and referrals to immigrant survivors of domestic violence.

Legal Resettlement Services offers resettlement services to newly-arrived refugees and provides low-cost immigration-related legal services to clients.

Asylum Services and Immigration Legal Services are also available.
