Food and Nutrition
Food For Families/Food for Seniors (En Español) Food for Families/Food for Seniors provides nutritional food boxes to pregnant women and post-partum mothers, infants and children under six years old who are not receiving WIC assistance, and seniors 60 years old or older, who meet federal income guidelines and are residents of the State of Louisiana.
The program also educates clients about good nutrition information that includes easy-to-make recipes using commodity foods, caloric intake, how to stretch food dollars and eat a healthy diet.
Food for Families/Food for Seniors currently holds food box distributions throughout 64 Louisiana parishes, with more than 18 sites in Orleans and Jefferson parishes.
