In the event of an emergency, this page will be posted with up-to-the-minute information about the location of Catholic Charities administration, residential facilities, and what services will be offered.

DISASTER INSTRUCTIONS

Catholic Charities will be utilizing the Archdiocese of New Orleans Emergency Number in the event of an emergency. The Emergency Contact Number will be displayed on the Emergency Website when activated in a disaster.

The number is: 1-800-730-ARCH (2724)

What is the Emergency Line?

· The emergency line will be utilized as a means of reconnection for staff and clients of CCANO in the event of a long-term mandatory evacuation from the City of New Orleans. Option 7 is designated as CCANO's Emergency Line. You will be directed to leave a message with your contact information.

· It will also be utilized for current recipients of CCANO programs or residential facilities to check in after evacuation is complete.

· It will be utilized as a number which the public can call to register for recovery assistance after a disaster.

When do we use the Emergency Line?

· CCANO’s Emergency Number will be activated at the time that a mandatory evacuation is called for the City of New Orleans.

· In addition, at the same time you can access www.ccano.org and you will be automatically connected to the Emergency Webpage for current updates and links to CCANO programs and residential facilities. The Emergency Number will be posted on this emergency webpage.

Who should use the Emergency Line?

After pressing Option 7 for the CCANO Emergency Line please listen for the appropriate option:

1. A Client of CCANO: Press Option 1

2. Family member seeking information on a loved one evacuated by a CCANO program or resident of a CCANO residential facility: Press Option 2 (PACE, Padua, Homeless Services, Ciara House)

3. An Employee of CCANO: Press Option 3


4. If you would like to donate money or items other than clothing: Press Option 5

5. If you would like to volunteer: Press Option 6

6. All other Inquries: Press Option 8

How does it work?

· Listen carefully to all prompts offered to make sure your call is directed to the correct designation.

· When directed to leave a message please speak slowly and clearly and repeat your telephone number. Please leave the program you work for or leave the name of the program that is providing service to you.

· Your voice message will then be e-mailed to your targeted department and you will receive a return call if required.
