about_the_aca

The Archbishop's Community Appeal (ACA) is an annual, volunteer-driven fundraising campaign which supports the work of Catholic Charities. This year the ACA is led by Archbishop Alfred C. Hughes and the 2008 General Chairperson, Madeline Doucet West.

The ACA has a long tradition in New Orleans. Since its inception in 1965, the ACA has been building better communities - person by person and family by family. Our story began as a response to Hurricane Betsy. Now, over 40 years later and in a world dramatically altered by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, our efforts remain the same: through housing, health care, education, and hurricane recovery aid, we are changing lives for the better.

Your donation to the ACA ensures that Catholic Charities will continue to be a source of hope and refuge for the most vulnerable in our community. Since Katrina, the anti-poverty programs of Catholic Charities touched the lives of over 1,000,000 people. With your support, we will continue to make a difference in the lives of those who most need it.
