Archbishop’s Community Appeal

The Archbishop’s Community Appeal (ACA) is an annual, volunteer-driven fundraising campaign which supports the work of Catholic Charities. This year the ACA is led by Archbishop Gregory Aymond and the 2009 General Chairperson, Rita Benson LeBlanc.

The ACA has a long tradition in New Orleans. Since its inception in 1965, the ACA has been building better communities – person by person and family by family. Our story began as a response to Hurricane Betsy.

Now, 43 years later and in a world dramatically altered by Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Gustav and Ike, our efforts remain the same: through housing, healthcare, education, and emergency response we are changing lives for the better.

Your donation to the ACA ensures that Catholic Charities will continue to be a source of hope and refuge for the most vulnerable in our community. Post-Katrina, the programs of Catholic Charities touched the lives of over 700,000 people. With your support, we will continue to make a difference in the lives of those who most need it.
